I have a confession: I’m a serial procrastinator. It affects almost every aspect of my life, such as doing household chores, walking the dog, being active, and, sadly, updating this blog. Fortunately, my dog and I are the only victims (maybe my wife, too); I’m always timely when it comes to interacting with my wedding photography clients, and especially so when it comes to delivering wedding photography on or before the due date. With that said, I have many tasks that aren’t actualized because I put them off in favour of something better or more convenient. This post is about completing one of those tasks and finally featuring a Romanian wedding I photographed in 2014.
There’s a good reason I’m sharing an event from almost two years ago. Diana and Mihai’s wedding holds the title for being the longest wedding photography assignment I have ever done. From 10:00 to 00:00, I spent a total of fourteen hours with the couple every step of the way. And although it left me so exhausted that I had to down two cups of coffee before driving home, it was an amazing experience. Yes, amazing; but not in the sense of the hollow approbation that every single wedding photographer has ever publicly attributed to a wedding they shot. No, not like that at all, but in the sense of having an amazing time with old school mates, for that’s exactly what it was.
Mihai was my classmate on several occasions in middle school. We lost touch afterwards as we attended different high schools and then different universities. Upon recommendation from a mutual friend, Mihai reconnected with me about photographing his wedding. And so the story goes…
For this particular post, I’ve decided to do things differently. Below you’ll find some of my favourite images. Below those images, I’ve included a video slideshow featuring a greater sample of photos. The video is available in high resolution, so you can have truly immersive experience—if you’re into that. Enjoy!
